Sigma Xi is an international honor society for science and engineering with nearly 100,000 members elected based on research achievements or potential. It has over 500 chapters worldwide and provides a supportive environment for interdisciplinary research. The society is based in North Carolina and publishes American Scientist, a research magazine. Over 200 members have won the Nobel Prize.
