Paralyzed Veterans of America is a non-profit organization founded in 1946 by service members with spinal cord injuries. Their mission is to empower veterans and people with disabilities to regain their freedom and independence through veterans service, medical research, and civil rights advocacy. They have 34 chapters representing thousands of veterans in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico.
