Mentor Request

I’m a professional working in the IT space (focused on supply chain systems), and I’ve reached a point where I’m trying to figure out my next step.

I’m feeling a bit stuck in terms of growth and want to be more intentional about my career progression, whether that’s moving into a more strategic role, expanding my skill set, or exploring adjacent paths within tech.

I’m looking to connect with a mentor or someone experienced who:
• Has grown within IT, supply chain, or related tech roles
• Can offer perspective on career direction and skill development
• Is open to sharing honest, practical advice

I’m motivated to grow and willing to put in the work. I just want to make sure I’m moving in the right direction.

If you’re open to connecting or sharing guidance, I’d really appreciate it. Even a quick conversation would go a long way.

Thank you!

Mentors land faster when you treat it like a mini search. From what I've seen a tiny personal board works best with one inside for org context, one outside from a vendor or integrator, and one peer a step ahead. You could reach out with a tight ask such as saying you are exploring TPM vs product vs data PM in supply chain and want to sanity check your plan in 20 minutes, which gets more yeses than a vague mentor ask.

100%. Especially when you're asking on an anonymous forum. I respect the hustle that the original poster had and I hope they find their mentor, but I think they'd have a better chance asking around on linkedin
