Question

I'm currently an intern at Apple and it looks like my team does not have head count to give me a return offer. What are my next options? In this economy it does not seem like anyone is hiring

That's non-sense. I had no problem finding high-paying companies to interview for. It was only a minority that had hiring freezes.

If you really want to work at Apple, look around at other teams in the company. Utilize your current position as an intern to connect with other teams. Reach out to your manager and ask them if they know of any teams who are hiring and they can refer you to. If they don’t have anything, check out Apples internal job board and apply to what they have posted. In the future, you can always transfer back to your current team once they start hiring.

I know it seems like doom and gloom on the press with such a huge lens on companies laying off. But there are companies that have been quietly growing and hiring through everything. Find and target those companies with strong business fundamentals.
