How to get into trading companies

Question

I saw companies like Jane Street, Five Rings paying huge amounts and I want to get into those companies as a software engineer. Can anyone please give me an advice how to clear those interviews?

Don’t interview there first - apply for a some roles you don’t want in other companies and learn to get good at interviewing.

For the big money, you’ll need minimum Python, ML and some bleeding edge skills - look at their websites to see what they need.

I’d suggest using LinkedIn to learn who works there. Try to network with them and learn from them what it takes.

They don’t particularly value seeing someone write union-find in 15 lines, or care if a candidate knows exactly how an AVL tree is written. For them, it's more about having strong fundamental skills and being able to discuss problems and risks. Those specific kinds of technical challenges can be found online and are usually not done in siloes. Can't be afraid to say, "I don't know" so as long as you're able to say, "but, here's how I think we can find out."
