Most of the layoffs are happening in the mortgage division. This was expected.

Recruiters think investment banks will trim 5% to 8% of workers as soon as July, after second-quarter results are released.

I think that'll be across the board though. Banks are still selectively hiring for in-demand roles, but they are also increasingly allowing positions to go unfilled if workers leave just to ensure costs stay down.
