Signal is much more private than WhatsApp. And Signal doesn't have a backdoor to circumvent the end-to-end encryption. Then there's also Telegram. These are not the only services out there and people who care know it.

It would be nice if they spent time getting rid of the scammer and bots on insta and whatsapp. Way too many to be functional

I know it might not seem like it because of the media coverage and publicity, but WhatsApp actually is much more secure than iMessage with real end to end encryption on messages. Because of all the scrutiny, they've had to implement this, but people still think there isn't privacy.
