I see some levels with the remote tag but their careers site isn't very clear

For most of the roles that is not the case. I was approached for a MLE position at TikTok and they wanted me to relocate from Germany to UK.

Yes it's possible to be remote. Check with recruiter. Probably differs depending on role.
