Fine with some standardized tech because I have so many random 🍑 cords and dongles that are useless now and tech waste is insane. I like it. Small changes that don’t impact consumers and forces companies to be innovative with purpose

This is a good thing, but happened in a bad way. Of course it’s great that it’s being standardized and that I can now use my buddies charger, and that they can use mine. Literally unlocks a ton of utility for each charger instead of being locked into one platform especially as a minority iPhone owner among my friend group. That said, government shouldn’t be enacting these blanket laws to force companies to do things. Completely interferes with the free market, and sets a bad precedent for the government to step into things it shouldn’t.

I think its double edged, changing the port for the sake of deprecating older inefficient one (in terms of size, data transfer rate & similar metrics) is a good idea and this if done for the sake of "sole profits" then :(
