Hi. Im planning on transitioning to a C# Dev and got an opportunity. However I am completely unaware of the market situation there. Could anybody give some insights?

Basically, the issue with C# is that it is primarily used for smaller enterprise style software. Most of the higher paying jobs avoid Microsoft's tooling with the exception of Azure and some of their collaboration suite. The concepts that you will learn being a C# dev will be useful and transferable, but most high paying employers will be looking for either python, Java, or golang.

A .Net/C# expert makes way less money than other language experts, about 20-30% I want to say… but that won’t really matter if you’re willing to learn/switch in a few years.It’s gaining back popularity since Net core is deployable to Linux, and if Blazor WASM really takes off, the market will become very interesting for C# experts pretty easily going full stack.
