Safety Center Incorporated, formerly known as Sacramento Safety Council, is a 501(c)(3) community benefit organization founded in 1934 to reduce injuries and save lives by providing safety education and training programs for all ages. Their programs include Safetyville USA for children, driving simulators and alcohol & drug education for teens, California Motorcyclist Safety Program, workplace safety training, court-referred DUI programs, and senior defensive driving program. They aim to empower positive behavior change and help people live safe, healthy, and productive lives.

I've been applying to like 5-10 jobs everyday for the past 6 months and getting like a 1% hit rate. I've got solid projects and a decent resume, with 1 internship in a mid-sized tech company but here I am unable to get anything as a new grad. Anyone else in the same boat?

I see more and more talk about how AI will change the way we work, or how AI will replace more and more people in the coming years, and I'm curious to see what impact AI has actually had in your day-to-day. I'll go first: AI has marginally improved my ability to solve problems at work because it helps me debug code, but only after I give it a ton of context. Usually, having to reiterate the context helps me more than the AI actually does in solving the problem, but I could be an outlier here because I haven't been using AI coding tools at my work just yet. Everything I've been doing with AI has been on the side, without my manager knowing lol

It almost feels like applications are vanishing into a black hole. I know the market is weird this year, but I can’t help but question my capabilities sometimes. I’ve worked across a few international environments before and never faced this level of stillness. Is it just me, or is the tech job market completely silent lately?

Been seeing more and more doomer posts on Reddit and Twitter about the AI bubble popping, all while the news cycles cover how companies are laying off people cause of AI, or how Sam Altman and that guy from Apple are going to make an all-new AI device. Do ya'll think this is a bubble that'll pop sometime soon or is this actually just the new normal?

There's someone on my team who just constantly avoids work and doesn't do whatever he's assigned. As much as he can, he tries to delegate his work to other people, to the point where he's clearly bugging us and putting too much on other people's plates. The thing is, he's a really nice guy outside of work related stuff. I know that when it comes to work, you'd want someone who's nice AND gets their stuff done, but at the end of the day, having someone who gets stuff done is probably more important. Without me pressing, he's admitted that he doesn't really want to do this type of work but stays just cause the pay is good. But at this point, his lack of work is negatively impacting my own work and plain getting annoying. Any suggestions on what I can do here?
