Question

I am currently a 1st Year student studying in Electrical/Computer Engineering. What sre some good ways to get an internship with my level of experience so I can start networking and getting my foot in the door with starting my career.

You should see if your university would give you credit for a co-op opportunity. In your area, Lockheed Martin takes in a lot of EE/CE/me goes as co-ops. The current round of hiring just ended but we do 6 month rotations. Could be an extra opportunity to try for if you’re in the Cherry Hill, NJ area.

Check with your college if they have internship programs, internal or external.My university had a program where you get paired with a prof for the summer to help them with their research, they also have an internship program where you can get hired by a company for 16months between your 3rd and 4th years and get full industry experience.
