PM roles in Canada - Bias to Permanent Residents?

Question

Hi guys,Need someone in the canadian tech space to share insights.&nbsp;I'm a new permanent resident to Canada having recently held a Senior/Lead PM role at a global (fortune 500) financial institution covering payments, eCommerce &amp; Transaction products.I've realised that irrespective of my experience working with a global product team and winning awards, it seems like a herculean task to get interviews for PM or senior PM roles in canada, as "Canadian experience" seems to trump my chances.I would love if someone can provide clarity.. That said, I'm in the market for a PM role. Any help will be appreciated.Thanks,Tobi

Faced the same problem when i immigrated 5 years back. Usually people start at a lower position to get into the job market and after a year switch so the original level. Thats what helped me as well. 
Doesnt help that there are a lot of layoffs happening so there is some competition in the job market.

I went through the same thing 3 years ago and was scared by all that Canadian experience. However when my manager intereviewed me she didnt care a thing about it. So, at the end of the day, i think it is a combination of finding the right company and getting pass recruiter (via referral). Good luck!

Are you French speaking? I notice there is a bias as well both by residents and employers.
